Arch Rock Energy Optimizer™
Arch Rock Energy Optimizer (AREO) is a wireless sensor and analysis solution that enables energy optimization while maintaining or enhancing essential environmental parameters in buildings, including data centers and commercial and institutional government buildings.
Arch Rock Energy Optimizer is delivered either as a hosted web portal, requiring no software installation by the customer and has near-zero impact on the customer’s IT resources or as a Server Appliance to organizations that need to host and self-manage their own environmental data.
Applications
Data centers
- Continuously track and improve data center ef¬ficiency metrics: PUE, DCIE
- Baseline the data center thermal environment before and after implementing aisle containment programs
- Continuously ensure environmental conditions around critical loads, while reducing energy waste
- Get the needed data to implement server consolidation with optimum energy impact
- Get fine-grained visibility of supply and return air temperatures at racks and air handling units, as well as chiller water temperatures and flow rates.
Office buildings
- Accurately measure baseline load prior to efficiency improvement and waste reduction programs
- Track key Indoor Air Quality metrics to ensure they meet ASHRAE guidelines while implementing energy savings measures
- Break out component loads, e.g. from IT equipment and HVAC units to focus mitigation and ROI
- Accurately measure demand peaks for possible time-shifting to avoid utility rate ratchets
- Take advantage of utility incentives associated with peak and base load reduction as well as Time-of-Use (TOU) and Demand Response (DR) programs
Commercial / Industrial facilities
- Accurately account for energy costs, utility-adjusted dollar costs, and CO2 emissions rates of individual processes or products
- See process load components in real-time and historical graphs and possible time shifting opportunities
- Design and implement energy efficiency programs without jeopardizing critical processes or Indoor Air Quality and employee comfort, ensuring that overall productivity is not affected
- Measure and verify effectiveness of savings programs and alternative energy sources.
Government buildings
- Implement regulatory mandates by demonstrating reduction of energy spending, ie: EISA 07, EPAct 05, AB32 (California), etc
- Continuously verify conformance to building standards, ie: EnergyStar, LEED, HQE, etc
- Baseline and continuously track progress towards mandated GHG reduction goals
